Chester zoo is one of the best. It is one of the UK’s largest zoos at 125 acres. The zoo has a total land holding of approximately 400 acres and and one of the largest in Europe. Full of animals and experiences with different areas and 1000’s of animals, its fun for all ages. In 2017 it was named as the best zoo in the UK and third in the world by TripAdvisor. It is the most-visited wildlife attraction in Britain. As a registered charity it helps to protect endangered wildlife, and receives no government funding.
Chester zoo is open year round even during the winter months. Which sets it aside from many attractions in the UK which typically only opens from spring till autumn. with over 21,000 animals and 500 different species, including some of the most endangered species on the planet. As well As 1.9 million visitors every year, the zoo is an all-year round, full-day visitor attraction for everyone.
It is a popular hot spot for day trips and families, with full pushchair and wheelchair access all over the park there are no limitations on who can visit. with large walk ways and lifts to get up to high viewing point for some of the animal enclosures the vast majority of the park is open to those with physical disabilities. Their facilities also include self-drive electric scooters and wheelchairs.
They have offers for schools and have learning and activity days. with over 100,000 educational visitors every year to the zoo. The zoos fully enclosed grounds mean that this is a perfectly safe location to allow older teen to explore in groups buy themselves and it means that no one is going to get lost outside of the grounds meaning its one of the best trips top complete with a large group size.
